IOE NY Update from the UN: 2021 UN High-level Political Forum

Help bring the voice of business to two major UN forums in July.

The 2021 UN High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) is fast approaching, taking place Tuesday, 6 July, to Thursday, 15 July 2021.

What is HLPF? Why does it matter to employer organisations? How can you get involved?

In addition to the HLPF official sessions (available to view via UN TV), we invite you to two IOE-organised HLPF side events:

12 July – The private sector as a crucial partner in achieving the 2030 Agenda organised by IOE, the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS), and the Permanent Missions of Germany and Qatar to the UN. The event will feature Dr. Ulrich Nussbaum, the German State Secretary as keynote speaker and will bring together leaders from the public and private sectors – leaders of the UN Sustainable Development System, employer organisations, CEOs, civil society, and experts. Register HERE.

7 July – “Private sector partnerships and contributions to the SDGsorganised by the Business & Industry Major Group – IOE and USCIB, featuring Jacques van den Broek, CEO of Ranstad Holding, representatives of leading companies such as Microsoft, and more. Register HERE.

Additionally, the UN is providing a training course on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with 10 sessions during HLPF, including one on SDG 8 (decent work and economic growth). See the following link for more information and to take part - https://sdgs.un.org/events/2021-sdgs-learning-training-and-practice.
