Organised by IOE, the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS), the Permanent Mission of Germany to the UN, and the Permanent Mission of the State of Qatar to the UN

Aim of the meeting

Taking place in the wings of the 2021 HLPF, this event will bring together leaders from the public and private sectors – Ministers, leaders of the UN Sustainable Development System, employer organisations, CEOs, civil society, and experts. The speakers will discuss ways in which the private sector can contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and foster multistakeholder partnerships to regain momentum towards achieving the 2030 Agenda.

The event will feature two panels – one will explore the benefits and results of multistakeholder engagement and how it translates into powerful partnerships for the achievement of SDGs and COVID-19 recovery. The second panel will discuss the practical steps that can be taken to include the private sector, particularly employer organisations, as a collaborating stakeholder in sustainable development implementation, including the preparation of UN Cooperative Frameworks, VNRs and projects at local level.
