Global Apprenticeship Network

The GAN is a business-led public private partnership, with the overarching goal of encouraging and linking business initiatives on skills and employment opportunities for youth - notably through apprenticeships, work-readiness programmes and work-based training.

Why GAN?

Following its mission ‘skills for business, jobs for youth’, it works with companies, governments, international and business and employer organisations to promote the apprenticeship model and other work-readiness programmes as a tool to fight youth unemployment and increase employability.

How does GAN work?

GAN includes some of the world’s largest companies at CEO level like The Adecco Group, ABB, Accenture, Hilton, Microsoft, Telefónica, UBS, JP Morgan Chase & Co., Astra International, IBM, JobzMall, Mastercard Foundation, Nestlé, Randstad and others.

It has close links with leading global organisations through its founding partners, such as the International Labour Organization (ILO), the International Organisation of Employers (IOE) and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

GAN provides a global strategic platform, yet has also launched GAN National Networks (GNNs) to achieve concrete results at country level. It has 244 member companies and 14 national networks globally.

Founded end 2013 as a call to action by G20 countries and B20 business leaders, the GAN was set-up as a Swiss association by mid-2014 and has accomplished many milestones as highlighted in its last Annual Report 2016-2017 and Catalogue of Best Practices.
