Employers and Business @ the ECOSOC Partnership Forum 2024

IOE will participate in the ECOSOC Partnership Forum with a business delegation and a set of side events on 29-30 January 2024.

The 2024 Partnership Forum of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) will be held on 30 January 2024, at the United Nations Headquarters in New York under the main theme “Reinforcing the 2030 Agenda and eradicating poverty in times of multiple crises: the effective delivery of sustainable, resilient and innovative solutions”.

The Partnership Forum brings together governments and other stakeholders to debate new ideas and solutions for an SDG-led transition, and to further inspire the work of ECOSOC leading up to the High-Level Political Forum on sustainable development (HLPF) in July and the Submit of the Future in September at UNGA.

Find below an overview of the events taking place in the sidelines of the forum that IOE will be participating in: 

29 January:

IOE and Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS) will be launching the Playbook 2.0 on collaboration between Resident Coordinators (RCs) and Employers during a closed breakfast meeting in New York. 

30 January:  

• 8:15 – 9:30 EST (New York time), The Business and Industry Major Group will hold a virtual meeting “Business for a Sustainable Future: Addressing Poverty, Creating Jobs, and Ensuring a Just Transition” co-organised with the ILO and UNDP. For more information and registration please consult this page.
• 15:00 – 16:00 EST (New York time), IOE Mexican Member COPARMEX's President, José Medina Mora Icaza, will represent IOE on the panel at the SDG Action Segment Goal 1-Poverty event (to be broadcast on UN web TV).
