During the The 2024 Partnership Forum of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) the Business and Industry Major Group (B&I MG) will organise a side event "Business for a Sustainable Future: Addressing Poverty, Creating Jobs, and Ensuring a Just Transition" to be wil held on 30 January, 8:15 – 9:30 EST/14:15 – 15:30 CET.  It aims at showcasing how business can actively contribute and partner in achieving the SDGs, with a focus on poverty reduction, job creation, and foster a just transition, ensuring equality and justice for all. The side event will be held on the sidelines of the 2024 Partnership Forum of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) in partnership with ILO and UNDP.

The 2024 Partnership Forum of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) will be held on 30 January 2024 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York under the theme “Reinforcing the 2030 Agenda and eradicating poverty in times of multiple crises: the effective delivery of sustainable, resilient and innovative solutions”. The Forum will place a special emphasis on the Sustainable Development Goals that will be reviewed at the 2024 HLPF, namely Goal 1 (No Poverty); Goal 2 (Zero Hunger); Goal 13 (Climate Action); Goal 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions); and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

Within the Forum’s formal plenary sessions, Member States and stakeholders will alternate taking the floor to outline their priorities and recommendations for accelerating progress toward the implementation of the 2030 Agenda. The Forum will also include four SDG action segments, each dedicated to one of the Goals slated for review during the High-level Political Forum in 2024.
