In the era of digital transformation and innovation, resorting to a qualified, well-trained and skilled workforce in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) is of paramount importance for countries. Yet a lot remains to be done. Many States have not created and implemented adequate policies to encourage girls and women to embrace a STEM education or career. However, a positive trend has emerged and suggests the different stakeholders are on the right track and that collective efforts can bear fruit and make a difference. Conversations on gender equality are rapidly evolving and could lead to major changes.

To further reduce the STEM gap, it is key to continue to find genuine solutions to tackle its root causes and determine the next steps. Building on the previous successful IOE PWG webinar that addressed the empowerment of women leaders in the private sector and how to promote women entrepreneurs, the aim of this digital event is to find practical ways to catalyse access to STEM opportunities, learning pathways, tools, skills and technologies and identify concrete solutions for women.

The agenda of the event is available in the "Resources" section.
