Skills frameworks and policies for climate action: New IOE policy review

Just published policy review examining the integration of the world’s skills and climate policies.

IOE’s newly released policy review takes a deep dive into the skills agenda as it relates to climate change policies and how governments and employers can strengthen readiness for some of the transformations already impacting many industries and sectors.

The policy review provides IOE members with the guidance and insights needed to advocate with governments for appropriate frameworks and policies for anticipating skills and ensuring employers are part of the discussion and ready for the significant changes ahead.

Notably, the policy review highlights existing regional and national developments on the topic and provides examples from the private sector. It also provides an extensive summary of analyses, thought leadership and types of policies that can make a difference. The review stresses the different challenges that need to be overcome through collaboration, the key role of employers and practical recommendations for ensuring disruptions are minimized and employers can find the needed skills for accelerating the green transition.

The IOE policy review concludes with recommendations for employers’ organisations which can help members increase their capacity in this policy area of growing importance.
