Show your support for our campaign to change public narrative on migration

Follow and engage with IOE and Business Advisory Group on Migration on social media as we take the lead on the It Takes A Community global campaign from 21 June – 2 July.

What impact does a negative public narrative on migration have on business? How does the “war on talent” affect business views on migration and the public narratives? And what are the driving forces that are pushing businesses to promote well-regulated migration policies that facilitate labour mobility?

These are just some of the questions a distinguished and dynamic group of leaders from employer organisations, businesses and start-ups will answer in a video series as part of the IOE’s and the Business Advisory Group on Migration’s takeover from 21 June -  2 July of the It Takes A Community global campaign.

Follow and share our two-week campaign posts on Twitter (@ioevoice, @GFMD_Business), Facebook and LinkedIn. From an Instagram Live: A Day In the Life of a Tech Entrepreneur Working on Migration to a Livestream event on 2 July, the variety of content and events allows the business community to raise our voice to support a positive narrative around migration.

‘It Takes a Community’ campaign is facilitated by the Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD), through the Working Group on Public Narratives on Migration, and led jointly by IOM and the Governments of Canada, Ecuador and the GFMD Mayors Mechanism. This is a global campaign with the aim of promoting a positive narrative on migration.

The campaign brings together influencers from the international youth movements, mayors from across the world and the global business community among others. This extraordinary assembly of people and perspectives are speaking with one voice that the public narrative on migration needs to change from a toxic, negative one to a positive and constructive one that takes into account the complexity of the issue and the benefits migrants bring to communities and economies.

The Business Advisory Group on Migration, housed at the International Organisation of Employers (IOE) leads the business engagement in this campaign.
