Release of New Playbook on UN and Private Sector Cooperation

IOE, KAS and UNDCO join forces for a new playbook promoting the pathways to a greater cooperation between the UN and employer organisations.

At the 2024 ECOSOC Partnership Forum, the International Organisation of Employers (IOE), the Konrad-Adenauer foundation (KAS) and the UN Development Coordination Office (UNDCO) hosted a breakfast to launch a new joint publication: Creating Synergies between UN Resident Coordinators and Employers for Sustainable Impact. This Playbook aims to further strengthen the dialogue and collaboration between Resident Coordinators and employer organisations with the purpose of working together to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Please find the full Playbook and the executive summary in the “Resources” section.

Building on the first Playbook on Building Momentum in the Decade of Action, this new edition explores opportunities for employers to be more engaged in the global UN processes. It also offers updated best practices and insights for effective UN-private sector collaborations, guiding positive on-the-ground actions.

The new Playbook reflects discussions and recommendations based on dialogues and consultations held between various parties throughout the three years since the first Playbook. It also includes feedback from surveys, and inputs from stakeholders and knowledge partners. The goal is to help the UN and the private sector find a common language and collaborate for positive action on the ground and accelerate SDG implementation.
