Participate in IOE/Ardea International Survey on Eliminating Child Labour in Supply Chains

IOE, in collaboration with Ardea International, is calling on its members to disseminate its global survey asking companies about their efforts to eliminate child labour in their supply chains.

Are you part of a business that has supply chain operations in multiple jurisdictions? Do you conduct human rights due diligence as part of your operations?

IOE, in partnership with Ardea International, is conducting a survey to explore how companies are demonstrating their human rights due diligence efforts to eliminate child labour in supply chains.

The survey is not an evaluation of any one company’s policy, but will instead be used to provide insights that allow IOE/Ardea to:

  • better understand how businesses are actively considering the risks of child labour being present in their supply chains
  • explore what precautions businesses have implemented, or considered implementing, to mitigate such risks
  • identify areas that are most challenging for companies in addressing child labour

All information will be held on a strictly confidential basis. The link to the 10-minute survey is here (now also available in French and Spanish). Please share this information with your networks and encourage their participation.

Through your honest responses, we will be able to develop future resources and shape dialogues on child labour to best create benefits for companies, ranging from large corporations to SMEs.

The results of the survey will also inform our white paper on the topic. This document will be discussed with representatives of governments, employers and workers’ organisations, NGOs and civil society at the 5th ILO Global Conference on the Elimination of Child Labour, which we will be attending from 16 to 20 May in South Africa.  If you would like to join the roundtable in May, either in person or virtually, please let us know on completion of the survey. The registration link for the Conference can be found here.

If you would like to speak with professionals about either the contents of the survey or your company's due diligence policies in more detail, feel free to contact Ardea or book a complimentary 15-minute call/zoom with Ardea International CEO and tri-qualified lawyer, Colleen Theron here.
