IOE and its network of over 150 independent employers’ organisations celebrate this milestone by pledging to increase efforts to advance respect for human rights worldwide.

On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Organisation of Employers (IOE) pledges to continue to be a leading advocate, vigorously supporting the development and promotion of well-established business and human rights instruments. Specific actions include:

  • Develop business and human rights capabilities through regional training programmes.
  • Disseminate insights on business and human rights, sustainability reporting, and responsible business conduct.
  • Raise awareness of international business and human rights instruments and policies
  • Provide companies with a practical guide for implementing the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and, more generally, sustainability reporting.
  • Aid employers' organisations in understanding business and human rights, undertake sustainability reporting, and develop policy strategies.
  • Foster business collaboration with multilateral institutions for collective human rights promotion.
