Employers’ position on a New Social Contract

IOE is sharing with its global network the latest employer deliberations on the ILO/UN concept of a New Social Contract.

As advanced, the ILO Director-General Gilbert Houngbo plans to propose a concept on a New Social Contract in his first report to the International Labour Conference. The concept will also play a key role in the preparation and outcomes from the UN Social Summit, scheduled for summer 2025.

For this reason, it is crucial for the global employers’ community to provide early substantive inputs into this concept based on the several exchanges that we held on this matter. We thank all IOE members for providing comments and inputs to produce this important contribution comprising the Employers’ position on a New Social Contract.
