Upcoming EU Policy Forum for Development regional events

Members from Africa, Latin America/Caribbean, and Asia are invited to take part in the upcoming activities of the EU Policy Forum for Development.

As shared in previous communications, IOE is a longstanding contributor, alongside members, to the EU Policy Forum for Development (PFD) at both regional and global levels.

The main aim of the PFD is to improve the effectiveness of EU development cooperation through open and regular dialogue. The IOE Secretariat's role is to coordinate and support the contribution of business to the discussion.

As part of this ongoing work, IOE members are strongly encouraged to contribute to the different ongoing EU development policy activity:

  • Members from Africa:
    • Register by 14 April 2023 for the online consultation on the implementation of the EU regional multi-annual indicative programme (RMIP) for Sub-Saharan Africa. Please register HERE.
      • The concept note, a summary of the AAP 2023, and other background materials are available at Capacity4dev.
  • Members from Latin America and the Caribbean:
    • Ahead of the upcoming EU-LAC Summit (at the Heads of State level) in Brussels from 17-18 July 2023, IOE will make a space available during the week of 10-14 July 2023 for members to propose their recommendations to the Summit. More information will be sent to relevant members in due course.
      • Find the Latin America and the Caribbean consultation report HERE.
  • Members from Asia and the Pacific:
  • Members from the European Neighbourhood area:
    • More information will be shared in the coming weeks.

The PFD brings together civil society organisations, local authorities, professional and business associations as well as representatives of EU institutions and Member States to discuss relevant issues and implementation of EU development cooperation. The PFD offers partners and stakeholders a place for open and transparent exchange, best practices, and involvement in policy formulation and implementation.
