World Day Against Child Labour ILO side event

Aim of the meeting

World Day Against Child Labour aims to highlight the plight of working children and to raise awareness on the worldwide movement against child labour. On this occasion, the International Labour Organization is set to hold an high-level event bringing together governments, employers and workers representatives to take stock of the latest accomplishments and challenges in the fight againt child labour.

The discussion will focus on the link between social justice and the elimination of child labour. Panellists will highlight examples of how ILO constituents have followed up on their commitments and how these are important steps towards increasing social justice.

IOE Role

Mr Jérôme Bellion-Jourdan, IOE Deputy Secretary-General, will represent the employers as part of the high-level panel of speakers, to share recent major efforts undertaken by the private sector and announce upcoming employers' initiatives on this important matter.
