IOE to join virtual event on role of business in Covid-19 prevention

IOE Secretary-General Roberto Suarez Santos will be one of the high-level panelists during a global event organised by Business Partners to CONVINCE (BP2C). The Initiative CONVINCE aims to stop the spread of COVID-19, to open-up economies and allow cross-border mobility again by promoting testing, vaccination and other preventative measures through the engagement of employers.
The event will launch the BP2C’s COVID-19 WORKPLACE CHALLENGE. CONVINCE calls on business to
- Listen to employees’ needs and concerns about the impact and prevention of COVID-19.
- Follow the latest public health guidance to protect employees, workplace, customers, and communities from COVID-19.
- Promote vaccine literacy with the latest scientific evidence and vaccination benefits and risks.
- Encourage vaccine confidence and uptake.
- Advocate for accessible, equitable, and timely vaccination of employees.
- Engage with communities, schools, faith-based organizations and public health leaders to stop the spread of COVID-19.
This event is taking place during the World Health Organization’s “World Immunization Week” from 24-30 April.
