"Less talk, more action" - B20-IOE One Global Women Empowerment conference

IOE and the B20's One Global Women Empowerment (OGWE) hold a high-level digital event deep diving into the most efficient policy levers and initiatives helping to empower women in business and the workplace.

Despite the various structural and societal barriers, there is an irrefutable conclusion that women’s employment can be a central driver of inclusive economic growth. Some countries are advancing, but the advancement is not equal everywhere - as a direct consequence of the pandemic and other global megatrends. Documenting and reviewing lessons learned will allow more impactful policy interventions and tackle the perception that there is a lot of talk, but not enough drive for concrete action on the ground.

With an impressive line-up of speakers joining from different sectors of international organisations, government and business, the "Less talk, more action" event aims to spotlight government-led/backed initiatives from different parts of the world focused on empowering women in business and in the workplace.

The One Global Women Empowerment initiative, a B20 Indonesia legacy project, was launched in Bali in December 2022 and is led by IOE as its permanent Secretariat. The aim of OGWE is to advance inclusive, resilient and sustainable global economic growth by empowering women. Looking ahead, and during the B20 India Presidency, OGWE’s plan is to ensure continuity in the advocacy for women empowerment between the B20 presidencies, facilitate peer learning and steer collective action.
