ILO Meeting of Experts on safety and health in textiles, clothing, leather and footwear

The ILO will hold via virtual means a Meeting of Experts on safety and health in textiles, clothing, leather and footwear. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss and adopt a code of practice on safety and health in the sector. More concretely, the code will provide practical guidance for the use of all those, both in the public and private sectors, who have responsibilities, duties and rights regarding safety and health in the textiles industries.

Eight Employer, eight Worker and Governmental experts will be invited to participate in the elaboration of this code of practice with the possibility to register additional participants as “Observers” to the Employers’ Group. To ensure the most equitable participation possible for participants from different time zones, plenary sittings as well as preparatory group meetings will be organized between noon and 5:00 p.m. Geneva time.
