Location

Online

Organised by the ILO

Aim of the meeting

The Global Call to Action directs the ILO to work with other multilateral institutions to convene a major policy forum aimed at “mobilizing a strong and coherent global response in support of Member States' human-centred recovery strategies that are inclusive, sustainable and resilient, including through joint initiatives and enhanced institutional arrangements among international and regional organizations.”  Thus, the Forum will serve as a vehicle for increasing and better aligning the efforts of multilateral organizations (and other relevant international and regional organizations) to support countries in the implementation of the human-centred approach framed by the Centenary Declaration and applied by the Global Call to Action to the current crisis.

The Forum's sessions will highlight specific announcements and illustrations of joint initiatives and arrangements for countries' crisis response and recovery strategies in the domains framed by the Global Call to Action. To this end, the Forum will also serve as vehicle for activating the Global Accelerator on Jobs and Social Protection for a Just Transition that the Secretary General announced at the UN General Assembly through its first round of cooperative actions and commitments on these topics.
