GFMD thematic workshop on culture, narratives and human mobility

This event is organized within the framework of the French presidency of the Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD) and is open to all GFMD stakeholders, including Member States, local and regional governments, civil society, the private sector, youth, as well as other institutional partners. Three roundtables will be followed by a visit to the Museum collection, dinner and a concert. The event will be hybrid allowing streaming of the opening session, roundtables and written questions for remote participants during the Q&A sessions.

Through the prism of culture, this event aims to foster dialogue, shared knowledge and exchange of practices in connection with the GFMD French Chair’s priorities:

  • Priority 1 on the impact of climate change on human mobility;
  • Priority 3 on Diasporas: actors of economic, social and cultural development of regions, and
  • Priority 5 on Improving the perception of migration in public opinion through narratives, culture, emotion and rational discourse.
