Dialogue with the candidates for ILO Director-General organised by the ILO.

The International Organisation of Employers (IOE) reminds our global membership to take part in the ILO virtual public dialogue with the five candidates to the post of ILO Director-General that is taking place on 20 and 21 January as follows:

Thursday 20 January

12:00 – 13:20 Mr Gilbert Houngbo (Togo)

13:30 – 14:50 Dr Kyung-wha Kang (Republic of Korea)

15:00 – 16:20 Mr Mthunzi Mdwaba (South Africa)

Friday 21 January

12:30 – 13:50 Mr Greg Vines (Australia)

14:00 – 15:20 Ms Muriel Pénicaud (France)

The virtual event is an opportunity to make each candidate’s vision and profile better known beyond ILO Governing Body Members who take part in the election. The dialogue will be livestreamed and can be followed on the ILO website or through social media by the entire IOE community. All links will be posted on the following page: https://www.ilo.org/gb/about-governing-body/appointment-of-director-general/lang--en/index.htm

All relevant logistical information can be found in the appendix to the following document: https://www.ilo.org/wcmsp5/groups/public/---ed_norm/---relconf/documents/meetingdocument/wcms_826133.pdf

After consulting IOE Regional Vice Presidents, Renate Hornung-Draus, as ILO GB Vice-Chair and IOE Vice President to the ILO, will represent Employers in the public dialogue presenting the questions to each candidate.

We trust as many members of the IOE community as possible will be able to follow this important dialogue.
