The International Organisation of Employers (IOE) is pleased to invite its member Caribbean federations to the first Caribbean Business and Human Rights Webinar to be held on 13 December. This online meeting will bring together stakeholders across the Caribbean region to raise awareness and discuss challenges and opportunities for promoting responsible business conduct and corporate accountability in the region.

The webinar is convened by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), within the Responsible Business Conduct in Latin America and the Caribbean (RBCLAC) Project, the UN Working Group on Business and Human Rights and the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF), in close collaboration with local and regional and international actors with a role and an interest in advancing the business and human rights agenda in the Caribbean.

The webinar aims to achieve the following outcomes:

  • Raise awareness, enhance knowledge, and foster understanding of the significance of integrating human rights into business practices in the Caribbean context.

  • Facilitate the exchange of good practices, lessons learned, and innovative approaches to promote responsible business practices throughout the Caribbean.

  • Foster the development of networks, partnerships, and collaborations among stakeholders to advance the business and human rights agenda in the region.

  • Identify challenges and gaps in the respect of HR in relation to business activities.

You will find the concept note and agenda in the “Resources” section.
