4ème édition du concours "Migration Challenge" de l'OIE : découvrez les finalistes

Le compte à rebours a commencé pour la finale en direct du concours "Migration Challenge" au Forum mondial sur la migration et le développement (FMMD 2024) à Genève (en anglais).

International Organisation of Employers (IOE) is excited to unveil an excellent lineup of finalists for the 4^th Migration Challenge in close partnership with Seedstars! Get ready for the live finale where the 10 finalists with golden tickets to the next Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD 2024) will put forward their best pitch before the Jury Panel and the international community in Switzerland!

The magnificent 10 is none other than Immigram, Inclusivity Solutions, Niya Network, Mohirdev, Talentspace.ai, Turing Certs, Palm, Propel, WHISP, and VisaRight. These trendsetters are not just start-up names - they are transforming the migration system with blockchain technology for skills and credential checks, AI and GIS tech to streamline the migration process and serve up the financial services with a side of insurance.

Why Migration Challenge?

Why is there so much buzz about the Migration Challenge? Since 2019, the IOE-Seedstars partnership championed a Migration Challenge programme to identify top finalists through a rigorous selection process (applicants undergo evaluation based on 31 distinct criteria, in addition to a comprehensive interview with partners) to showcase their solutions on the international stage. In case you missed the announcement, the IOE-Seedstars partnership on Migration Challenge has earned recognition as a UN SDG Good Practice 2021! We are not just looking for any solutions: we want start-ups that bring the energy with actionable tech products and services that address information gaps, enhance accessibility, provide financial education, and give international migration systems much-needed tech-lifting.

But wait, there is more! It is not just about code and algorithms. It is also about making the world a better place. The IOE Migration Challenge is open to a diverse range of migration solutions and encourages creativity beyond the specified categories.Focusing on this year’s GFMD topics, the Challenge also welcomes tech start-ups working on climate-related solutions spanning different sectors of the migration debate, focusing on emerging markets in the Middle East, Europe, and Africa.  

GFMD is the centre stage for the finale

Chaired by France, the 14^th GFMD Summit will take place in Geneva, Switzerland from 23-25 January 2024. It will serve as a global centre stage for governments, policymakers, practitioners and representatives from civil society and the private sector to gather around the same goal on migration and development - check out this year’s focus. It is also the prime time for Migration Challenge tech start-ups to shine!

Tech innovations in the migration debate are stealing the spotlight, turning heads among decision-makers and investors at the GFMD and beyond. These start-ups are not just pitching ideas, they are the fearless pioneers breaking barriers in the digital divide and using their wit and technovation to untangle the complexities of migration.

While the Jury Panel will judge to crown the winner and two runners-up, all 10 finalists will become part of the IOE Migration Challenge Alumni Network. Beyond the global visibility and potential partnerships, finalists get a backstage pass to a global migration dialogue, meeting with the industry leaders and forging connections with potential partners.
