The European External Action Service (EEAS) and the Directorate-General for International Partnerships of the European Commission (DG INTPA), in collaboration with the Policy Forum on Development, will be hosting an online meeting to follow-up on the initial phase of implementation of the EU regional multi-annual indicative programme (RMIP) for the Americas and the Caribbean (2021-27), and its connection with the CELAC-EU bi-regional roadmap 2022-2023.
The meeting will take place on 15 December 2022, from 15:00 to 18:00 CET.
After a presentation from EU side of the state of play of the RMIP, and a presentation of the CELAC-EU bi-regional roadmap 2022-2023, there will be an opportunity to ask questions for clarification. After the plenary, participants will break into two smaller discussion groups around two broad topics: (1) Inclusive Societies and (2) Just Transitions in a context of Green and Digital Transformation.
The key questions for discussion in the groups can be summarised as follows (see detailed questions in the concept note to start your preparation; methodology will be adapted to focus the discussion):
What do you see as the biggest challenge(s) in Latin America and the Caribbean in the areas covered by the discussions? Do you have recommendations to improve or increase the added value of the EU’s actions as outlined in the RMIP?
What contribution could CSOs, including youth and women’s organisations, and local authorities provide in the framework of this regional initiative? How could these contributions lead to a positive agenda of engagement in the framework of the CELAC-EU bi-regional roadmap 2022-2023?

Please note that, in principle, the plenary sessions will be conducted in Spanish and English, with simultaneous interpretation. The discussion groups will be organised in Spanish and/or English depending on the feedback received during registration.
We would be grateful if you can identify the most suitable representative of your organisation, also bearing in mind the regional nature of this programme (one person can register per organisation).
