Forum des partenariats de l'ECOSOC 2023 - Session "Spotlight" de l'OIE et de l'USCIB

On the margins of United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) 2023 in New York, under the umbrella of Business and Industry Major Group, the International Organisation of Employers (IOE), in cooperation with the United States Council for International Business (USCIB), is leading a spotlight event. The event brings together international partners to discuss concrete steps to enhance financing to accelerate action on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including private sector investment. Special focus will be given to the needs of Least Developed Countries and small and medium businesses. The session will identify good business practices anchored in a human-centred approach which demonstrate innovation, adaptability and sustainability. 

The high-level panel will discuss the following questions: 

• What innovative actions has the private sector taken to address the challenges of inadequate enabling frameworks for investment? Can SDG-guided partnerships be a vehicle to mobilise funds and stimulate economic activities, including income-generating ones? 
• What are some of the areas where the UN and specialised agencies see the greatest potential for collaboration and impact in partnering with the private sector and with respect to catalyzing and leveraging investment and finance? 
• How can we scale up the investment and financing for LDCs and what are the roles of the private sector to such end?  What are some of the good examples and lessons learned?

The session will be held in a hybrid format in Conference Room 5 UN building in New York, using WebEx platform and will be webcast via UN web TV. The WebEx link will be shared with all registered stakeholder participants.

Dialogue will include representative of the UN, IT company and employers federation.
