IOE 2023 Global Young Professionals Academy Wraps Up!

Talented young employer professionals from 23 IOE member organisations successfully completed the 2023 session of the Academy.

Skills development, knowledge sharing, networking, and mentoring were all part of the programme of the 2023 edition of the Global Young Professionals' Academy, which took place in Istanbul, Türkiye. Hosted by the International Organisation of Employers (IOE) in partnership with the Turkish employers’ organisation, TISK, together with the pivotal expertise of the International Training Centre of the ILO (ITCILO), and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the success of this year’s session of the Academy was the result of a joint effort.

This year's cohort engaged in a range of activities, including participating in simulated lobbying, delivering presentations and speeches, visiting the MEXT Digital Factory, and gaining insights into the significance of their roles as part of an employers’ organisation in both national and international relations. This year’s group reflects the participating organisations’ recognition of the relevance and positive impact of diversity in society.

IOE provides a distinctive learning opportunity that unites senior professionals from IOE, TISK, ITCILO, and renowned global speakers. This enables young professionals to gain a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter within a global context.

During this year’s session, Achal Khanna, CEO of SHRM India, shared valuable insights on people and professional strategies. Additionally, Menno Bart, the Public Affairs Manager at the Adecco Group, and Denis Pennel, the Managing Director of the World Employment Confederation, shed light on key developments in the world of work and offered perspectives from employers worldwide. Nishith Upadhyaya, Senior Director at SHRM India, contributed his expertise and experiences regarding the future workplace and significant innovation trends.

With the support of co-funding by the European Union, the Academy is aimed at current and future success. Future applicants should watch for the announcement on the 2024 edition.
