2024 IOE-BDA-DHL Group International Human Rights Conference on Responsible Business Conduct

Business-led international conference on Business and Human Rights on 23 April 2024 from 8:30-17:00 CET in Bonn, Germany.

Organised by the International Organisation of Employers (IOE) together with the Confederation of German Employers’ Associations (BDA) and hosted by DHL Group, this high-level Conference brings together leading global, regional and national figures from the UN, governments, trade unions, civil society, business leaders and policy experts. Companies are encouraged to attend and engage at various levels and from different departments.

The 2024 edition will be held under the title of “Navigating between hard and soft law: Enhancing business preparedness”. Through a combination of high-level panels and practical workshops, the Conference will provide space to discuss current and emerging trends impacting the private sector and how companies and employer federations can get ready.

Discussion will be conducted in English. Topics on the agenda for the 2024 edition include:

• From adoption to implementation: Anticipated impact on companies of the existing hard law and the European Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CS3D) and the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD)
• When environment meets human rights: Corporate handling of external and internal impacts of environmental issues following the UN recognition of a human right to a healthy environment
• Technology and digitalisation with a Business and Human Rights lens: Opportunities and limits of new and emerging technologies for responsible supply chain management
• Making access to remedy effective: Examples and best practices of operational grievance mechanisms
