Time is running out to send in your SDG good practices  

A second open call for SDG good practices, success stories and lessons learned in the implementation of 2030 Agenda is soon closing - 28 February 2021. Do you have a success story in aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)? Send them in! The goal is to highlight examples of good practices to inspire more positive action by others across the globe.

The 2021 HLPF 

The High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) is the core UN platform for the follow-up and review of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 SDGs. The 2021 HLPF is scheduled to take place from 6-15 July, likely in a virtual or hybrid format. Among the SDGs under review are: SDG 8 on decent work and economic growth, SDG 12 on responsible consumption and production, and SDG 17 on partnerships.

During the HLPF, countries will also present their Voluntary National Reviews (VNRs) that detail their implementation of the 2030 Agenda. We encourage you to seek out the VNR focal points in your country to become a stakeholder in the preparation process. Engage with your local UN Resident Coordinator 

As we stressed last week, we strongly encourage you to reach out to your local UN Resident Coordinator (RC) to become involved in the planning process of UN's sustainable development programming at national level - whether that’s in the UN Common Country Analysis (UN CCA) and/or the Cooperation Framework for your country. The office for supporting the RCs has advised that the first step in becoming involved can be as simple as requesting an introductory call with the RC or his/her staff.

We encourage you to become a member of the UN Business & Industry Major Group and make your voice heard at the UN. You will receive regular updates as well as invitations to high-level events, webinars, and other opportunities to engage with the UN System.
