Calling IOE Members in East, Central & Southern Africa: 43rd Annual Conference in Lilongwe, Malawi on 3-4 June 2019

The Employers' Consultative Association of Malawi (ECAM) will host the 43rd Annual Conference of IOE members from East, Central and Southern Africa in Lilongwe on 3-4 June.

This year's annual Conference of ECSA members of the IOE will be hosted by the Employers' Consultative Association of Malawi (ECAM) on Monday, 3rd and Tuesday, 4th June 2019 in Lilongwe. The theme this year is the Future of Work (FoW), with a particular focus on work-responsive skills for sustainable enterprise development in light of the upcoming discussion, based on the Report of the ILO Global Commission on the Future of Work, in the Centenary ILC.

The meeting is being co-organised with the IOE and has the support of Business Africa and the European Union, which will provide limited funding to cover travel, accommodation and subsistence costs of IOE members from the region to participate with the aim of strengthening the capacity of employers' organisations to be effective champions of business. The full programme will be available shortly.

If you would like to join the Conference, and to apply for financial support, please complete and return the Registration Form, which may be downloaded via the link in the "Resources" section of this communication, to Ms Caroline Balikungeri by 20 May at the very latest to allow time for flight and visa arrangements.

We very much look forward to your participation in this traditional gathering of members from the region and to exchanging perspectives on what the Future of Work means in terms of challenges and opportunities for business and employers' organisations in East, Central and Southern Africa and how we can support preparation for and transition to the new world of work.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
