Dear Members, Dear Partners,
 
We are pleased to share the official invitation to the GFMD Summit, taking place in Palmeraie Palace, Marrakesh on 5-7 December 2018. The Eleventh GFMD Summit will be the climax of the two-year Moroccan-German GFMD Co-Chairmanship that spans from 1 January 2017 until 31 December 2018. Please refer to the link below the main text to access the invitation. The deadline to register is 3 November 2018 (please follow this link in order to do so). Funding for participants will be available through the EU, please contact winet@ioe-emp.com for more information. A GFMD Business Mechanism meeting is scheduled on 6 December in the afternoon, followed by a dinner hosted by the German co-chair. The agenda of the business meeting will follow in due course.
 
The Marrakesh Summit presents a momentous opportunity for the global migration community to reflect on future perspectives for the GFMD with its enhanced role, and to prepare for the adoption of the first ever Global Compact for Migration, which sets out common principles and actionable commitments to ensure a more effective management of migration.
