IOE welcomes Confindustria and PSF Rwanda as new Members

Confindustria and PSF Rwanda will re-join the IOE as of 1 June 2018. The IOE General Council unanimously approved their membership in its session on 27 May 2018 in Geneva. IOE President Erol Kiresepi warmly welcomed both federations and stressed the importance of their joining for the IOE and the global employers’ family as well as for both the federations themselves. “The strength of the IOE is its network of more than 150 Member federations in more than 140 countries around the globe. Confindustria and PSF Rwanda will considerably strengthen this network. We are very much looking forward to collaborating closely with both organisations on the global business agenda. Key focus areas are the representation of employers’ interests in the ILO, G20 and other UN agencies, the current negotiations on a global compact for migration, as well as issues such as human rights, SDGs, future of work, and many more” he added.

Confindustria is the General Confederation of Italian Industry, representing manufacturing and service companies in Italy, with a voluntary membership of more than 150,000 companies, employing more than 5.4 million people.

PSF Rwanda is the Private Sector Federation in Rwanda, dedicated to promoting and representing the interests of the Rwandan business community. It is an umbrella organization that groups nine professional chambers, such as the chamber of Agriculture, Commerce, Industry, Tourism and ICT.

Established nearly 100 years ago, the IOE is the largest network of the private sector in the world, with more than 150 business and employer organisation Members. In social and labour policy debates taking place in the International Labour Organization, across the UN and multilateral system, and in the G20 and other emerging processes, the IOE is the recognised voice of business.

Yours sincerely,

Roberto Suárez Santos

Acting Secretary-General
