Announcement of departure of Linda Kromjong, IOE Secretary-General

Dear Members and Partners,

As President of the International Organisation of Employers (IOE), and on behalf of the Management Board, it falls to me to announce that Linda Kromjong and the IOE have mutually agreed the end of their relationship. As of this date, our Deputy Secretary-General, Roberto Suárez Santos will be "acting Secretary General".

Linda took up her post with the IOE on 1 May 2015 following a competitive recruitment process, which was led by a special committee of the Management Board. Under Linda’s leadership, the Secretariat has served the interests of the IOE’s members, both in the ILO and beyond, with professionalism and dedication. The IOE’s collaboration with partners has been expanded and the internal organisation of the Secretariat has been re-aligned to enable more focus and to provide enhanced services in a rapidly evolving environment.

The Management Board and I have appreciated Linda's commitment and skill in developing the institutional advancement of the IOE and particularly the substantial contribution she made to the recent process we undertook to conduct a comprehensive and strategic repositioning and rebranding of the organisation.

Having successfully presented the outcomes of that exercise to the IOE Management Board, Linda has fulfilled her role in shaping the future direction of the organisation and she will pursue other opportunities.

We thank Linda for her role in leading this change, and for her three years of excellent service to the IOE overall.

We wish her all the best in her professional and personal life going forward.

Yours sincerely,

Erol Kiresepi

President
