Association of Tanzania Employers to host responsible business conduct workshop in Arusha

The International Organisation of Employers is supporting the Association of Tanzania Employers to host the fourth in a series of responsible business conduct workshops. The upcoming event will take place in Arusha on 17-18 October 2017, with the additional support of the European Union.

Following similar workshops in Jakarta and Johannesburg in 2016, and more recently in Kumasi, Ghana in September 2017, the IOE will join forces with ATE, its member in the country, as well as partners GRI and Centro Vincular, to deliver presentations and provide a venue for the exchange of experience and best practice for the Tanzania business community.

As on previous occasions, the workshop will also aim to attract companies large and small, from across sectors, with a view to raising awareness and deepening understanding of the main international business and human rights initiatives and instruments that support and guide enterprises to conduct themselves responsibly and to engage in transparent reporting.

The workshop will also seek to identify areas where business could be supported by government, and/or other stakeholders, to make further progress in this area.

Please refer to the link in the side panel for the draft agenda and contact Mr Peter Hall at the IOE for further information.
