Tunis Action Plan for the implementation of the Blueprint for Jobs in Africa – call for comments on the draft

You will recall that the aim of the African Social Partners Summit in Tunis on 15-16 December was the elaboration of an Action Plan to take forward the implementation of the Blueprint for Jobs in Africa.

The Summit provided an excellent venue for this exercise.  The expert presentations as well as the outcomes of group sessions benefited greatly from the engagement and commitment of all the participants. This inclusive approach meant that a comprehensive range of ideas, experiences and country perspectives were reflected in the draft plan, which has been assembled by our generous hosts and colleagues at UTICA and may now be downloaded via the link in the side panel.

We all know that time is of the essence. Comments and any further input to the plan are invited from the African social partners by 15 March at the latest to Ms Anetha Awuku at the IOE so that we can finalize our roadmap for implementation and turn our words into actions for a real impact on sustaining growth and accelerating the pace of job creation on our continent.

Thank you again for your continuing support and commitment to our mission.
