Taller #UNGPsPlus10 para África

Participen en esta conferencia digital el jueves, 28 de enero de 2021 a las 13:00, hora centroeuropea (en inglés)

June 2021 marks the tenth anniversary of the Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights: Implementing the UN “Protect, Respect and Remedy” Framework - the globally recognized and authoritative framework for State duties and business responsibilities in preventing and addressing business-related human rights abuse. It is time to take stock on what has worked and what hasn’t and what needs to change in order to more effectively promote the State duty to protect human rights, the business responsibility to respect, as well as access to remedy.

The UN Working Group on Business and Human Rights, which is mandated by the UN Human Rights Council to promote the Guiding Principles, is currently leading the stocktaking of the first ten years and developing a roadmap to scale up implementation over the next decade. This effort is known as UNGPs10+. The stocktaking report and the roadmap will be issued in June 2021, coinciding with the 10th anniversary of the Guiding Principles.

This digital conference will discuss progress and still existing gaps in the implementation of the UN Guiding Principles, as well as priority areas which should be in the focus in the next decade of action of the UN Guiding Principles. The aim is to give input to the Working Group in the process of developing the roadmap.
