Change of date for the Twelfth GFMD Summit Meeting, Quito
Statement by Ambassador Santiago Chávez, GFMD 2019 Chair
The GFMD announced that in view of recent developments, they regret to inform all participating Member States and other stakeholders that the Twelfth Summit in Quito has been postponed to 20-24 January 2020. This decision was taken after conducting due diligence and consulting with the GFMD Troika, with the interest of participants as the host government’s key consideration.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to our business delegation.
In view of an active business engagement at the Summit, the Business Advisory Group on Migration will host a major session during this global event. We will present the outcomes and recommendations from the workshops we held in Tunisia, Buenos Aires and Qatar on advancing public and private sector dialogue on migration. We also aim at showcasing how technology and entrepreneurship can contribute to better migration management through a start-up competition currently online.
The voice of business is key to promote a regulatory environment in which labour migration policies support business and economic development. Join us in Quito to raise this voice!

Information about the Summit and the programme for the business delegation will be shared as soon as available.
