IOE-ATIA Workshop Skills Development Workshop
Provisional Agenda (updated)
The GAN is proud to announce that its much anticipated campaign on SkillingNow has been officially launched at the International Labour Office in Geneva on 28 March. Bringing in top leaders from business and international organisations from many parts of the globe, this campaign fosters a unique, multi-sectoral vision and approach to how we view the future of work and the skills needed to navigate this unchartered terrain.
Why this campaign?
The world of work is changing rapidly, driven by a series of megatrends – globalisation, technology, demographics and climate change. These trends affect the composition of the workforce, the nature of tasks, and the way work is organized. Yet, new opportunities and roles are being created that were unforeseen even a decade ago.
Unlocking these opportunities to the benefit of all stakeholders requires a proactive and collective response by governments, businesses and individuals, to continuously build the skills needed to meet evolving labour market demands; a window of opportunity exists today for us to understand and proactively shape how we respond. SkillingNow aims to unleash the discussion by providing a platform for an interactive, global dialogue, engaging people from diverse sectors and backgrounds in an exchange about building the skills we need for a future of good work through work-based learning opportunities.
