Are you a young professional working in an employers' organisation? Would you like to join a group of peers to build your skills as an effective representative of business? Why not apply to participate in the third edition of the Global Employers' Young Professionals' Academy....

The Global Employers' Young Professionals Academy is offering a week-long training session (40 hours), to take place in Madrid from 8-12 April 2019.

The training session, which will be conducted in English, is the third annual event organised by the International Organisation of Employers (IOE), in co-operation with the International Training Centre of the ILO (ITCILO) and the training centre of the Spanish Employers’ Organisation (CEOE), with the support and co-funding of the European Union.

The aim of the training session is twofold:

  • Skills development of young professionals currently working in employers’ organisations, business federations and chambers of commerce that are members of the IOE.
  • Network building capacity of young employers’ organisation professionals around the world to enhance their expertise, experience and exchange of best practices.

The course has a two-phase structure:

  1. An online distance preparation module which will take place end February/early March and will require approximately three hours of work per week.  It will be done independently at the convenience of the participant.
  2. A face-to-face session which will take place in Madrid from 8-12  April as indicated above.

Young employers’ organisation professionals are invited to submit their applications (please download the form via the link below) to Ms Caroline Balikungeri at balikungeri(at)ioe-emp.com by 22 January 2019

The following criteria apply:

  • Two years’ experience in an employers’ organisation, business federation or chamber of commerce that is a member of the IOE

Twenty-five applicants will be selected, and informed by 29 January 2019, with the aim of achieving a diverse group of participants. Travel and subsistence costs will be covered by the organisers, but all visa-related costs will be the responsibility of the participant.

The programme will be led by expert trainers and cover a host of topics of high relevance to employers' organisations, including how to retain and identify new members; provide new services for members; communicate effectively; engage in social dialogue, and more.
