The IOE signs a Framework Partnership Agreement with the European Commission

Brussels, 26 June 2018

The International Organisation of Employers (IOE) and the European Commission have signed a Framework Partnership Agreement (FPA).

This agreement is a strategic partnership setting out common interests and objectives that both organisations can cooperate on to enhance the capabilities and services of independent and autonomous employers’ organisations worldwide, to foster an enabling environment for business to thrive, to advance inclusive and sustainable development, to promote responsible business conduct in a globalising world and to advance equality.

The EU Commissioner for International Cooperation and Development, Neven Mimica, and IOE Acting Secretary-General, Roberto Suárez Santos signed the FPA during the 2018 EU Partnership Forum.

In this manner, the IOE strengthens its commitment to the achievement of the 2030 Development Agenda, and will continue to invest in regional and global partnerships to support the private sector contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals, including SDG 17.
