Aim of the meetingThe IV Global Conference on the Sustained Eradication of Child
Labour (the Conference) will take place November 14th-16th in
the City of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The goal of the Conference is to strengthen global commitment to accelerate child labour eradication in all its forms by 2025, and to eliminate forced labour, modern slavery and human trafficking by 2030, as stated in Target 8.7 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
The Conference is organized by the Argentine government,
with the support of the International Labour Organization (ILO).
Over three days, representatives from governments, workers’
and employers’ organizations, and civil society will gather to
exchange lessons learned and experiences, and to discuss global
strategies aimed at accelerating child labour eradication in
all its forms and reaching Targets 8.5, 8.6 and 8.7 of the SDG.
Within this context, the issues of child labour, forced labour,
modern slavery, human trafficking and quality employment
creation for the youth will be addressed.

IOE Role in the meetingTo coordinate the voice of Employers in the meeting, participate as panellists, support Employers in the negotiation of the Buenos Aires Declaration.
