Eventos de la OIE para Miembros en África

Dos eventos consecutivos para los miembros de la OIE en África, organizados conjuntamente con NECA (Nigeria) con el apoyo de la Unión Europea (en inglés).

As announced in our 21 November 2019 communication, the 6th African Social Partners’ Summit will take place on 25 and 26 February 2020, the first in English-speaking Africa, as a joint endeavor of IOE and our member, the Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA). The location is now confirmed as Lagos.

Please confirm your interest in participating via the Registration Form provided as soon as possible and by the 1 February 2020 deadline. Please also indicate your interest in providing us with an overview of any job creation / skills development programmes, projects or initiatives you have undertaken as an employer and business-membership organisation (EBMO).

The upcoming Social Partners' Summit will provide an opportunity to showcase advances in job creation, in cooperation with your membership, or with social partners, think tanks, government departments or other relevant institutions.  IOE will compile these experiences in advance of the Summit.  The aim will be to identify initiatives that have real potential for replication, albeit modified for national particularities, in the achievement of economic and social transformation through skills development and job creation. (Background information from previous social partner summits, such as the Blueprint for Jobs in Africa, the Tunis Action Plan and the IOE Report of the 5th African Social Partners' Summit (Abidjan, September 2018) may be accessed in the Resources section of this communication.)

As previously indicated, EU funding will support the participation of a limited number of social partner participants.

In addition, to mark the 100-year anniversary of IOE, we will also be organising an exclusive IOE Centenary Summit on 24 February for IOE members to discuss the Draft IOE Centenary Manifesto, which will be adopted by the membership on 24 May 2020.  This will be an opportunity for IOE members in Africa to share their vision for the future of IOE as it relates to their own region.  Input will also be gathered from the other regions to feed into the Manifesto, thus ensuring the final text delivers a true reflection of members’ ambitions and aspirations from around the world.

Please indicate if you would like to be considered for financial assistance (covering travel, accommodation and meals), as well as  your interest in participation on 24 February, via the Registration Form.

We look forward to your participation!
