Governing Body

The Governing Body is the International Labour Organization's tripartite governance structure, made up of governments, employers and workers, and which, amongst other tasks, determines the biennial budget and work programme for the ILO as well as providing policy direction and governance oversight to its activities around the world. The Governing Body meets three times a year, with its major meeting being held in March and November.

As with the ILC, the IOE provides the Secretariat to the Employers' Group and contributes to the development of responses to the items on the Governing Body agenda. The IOE further supports the individual Employer Group spokespersons on behalf of the Group in the discussions.
