African Regional Meeting of the Policy Forum on Development, Gaborone, Botswana, 8 - 10 October 2018: Register Now!

Dear IOE members in the Africa region,

As a reflection of our commitment to the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda, a high priority for the IOE is to support, guide and advise the private sector in making a substantial contribution to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, including SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. Much of this work is conducted alongside members in partnership with a range of other institutions and bodies, notably the European Union's Policy Forum on Development (PFD).

You will recall from our previous communications (please follow the links in the side panel) that the PFD provides a multi-stakeholder platform for bringing together members of civil society, local authorities, the private sector and European institutions to shape development policies in a spirit of constructive dialogue. The IOE regularly supports members to attend PFD sessions, both at the regional and global level, to ensure business priorities and perspectives are taken into account in the design and roll-out of development policies and activities.

The next regional PFD will take place in Gaborone, Botswana from 8 - 10 October 2018 and the IOE's role is to coordinate and support the participation of its members from the Africa region in both the PFD and a parallel business-only event dealing with financing and the EU's External Investment Plan (please refer to the links in the side panel for further information.)

We are keen to ensure a strong business presence at these meetings in order to provide the private sector's views regarding the reforms necessary to create an enabling environment for investment, among others.
