The critical issue of youth unemployment (which accounts for 41 per cent of the unemployed persons globally) is now gaining considerable momentum, particularly since the adoption of UN General Assembly Resolution Promoting Youth Employment in 2002.


The IOE remains engaged in the issue on a number of fronts and is a key partner in the Youth Employment Network (YEN) (the ILO, World Bank and UN Initiative).
