Climate change has now become an issue where the implications have a direct effect on business decision making. As well, Governments are developing policies and measures to make the transition to low carbon economies and to meet international commitments to emission reduction targets, which will affect enterprises of all sizes and sectors.
Firstly
on those industries that either contract, adapt or emerge as a consequence of
climate change and climate change policies.
Secondly
on those industries in the supply chain of the first level industries where
there will be changes in business costs or consumer sentiment.
Employment and social policy must anticipate and incorporate this new influence over business and market behaviour.
