Business Recovery Planning

Disasters, be they natural in the form of extreme weather or earthquakes or man made such as fire or technology failures can have an immediate and sustained impact on business. Increasingly organisations are looking at ways and means of both protecting their business information and their staff from the impact of such disasters as well as developing plans to facilitate a return to normal business operations as quickly as possible.

A number of IOE members have developed systems and tools for their own business recovery as well as helping their own members with such planning. This section is dedicated to capturing and sharing examples of such initiatives as a resource for IOE members. Business today cannot go unprepared.

Information including tools, checklists and sample business continuity and disaster prepared new plans can be found at:

  • Jamaica Employers’ Federation (JEF)
  • Employers’ Consultative Association, Trinidad and Tobago (ECA)
